A family of ducks stopped traffic in Frederiksberg in 1959 during rush hour. A policeman stopped all traffic so the ducks could cross the road safely. By chance, a journalist captured the moment. The story and the image of the ducks and the policeman spread throughout the country, not least Hans Bølling, was captivated by this story, which is why he created the Duck family.
