Decorative bird Puffin

The puffin wears a penguin-like black and white outfit and a beak that changes to orange in spring from grey in winter. It is about 25 cm long, weighs 0.5 kg and prefers the sea as its main base, only visiting land to breed. It hunts by diving to depths of 60 meters, catching herring and sandfish.

These seabirds are extremely long-lived, averaging over 30 years. The oldest recorded puffin lived to be 41 years old, matching others of its species.
