Hook Chanterelle

The chanterelle is part of a fungal order with around 300 species. It is easily recognized by its yellow cap and is abundant throughout the Nordic region. In Europe, there are several countries where the chanterelle has declined sharply and has become rare.
As an edible mushroom, the chanterelle is a delicacy, also known as the gold of the forest. It thrives in deciduous and coniferous forests, but is even found in mountain birch forests – although it is not as common there.
